At Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, we believe that everyone has a right to good food. That’s why we work with a network of more than 400 community-based agencies in 11 counties in Southwestern Pa. to provide food to more than 110,000 people every month.
It is also why we are focused on providing more high-quality, fresh produce to the families we serve. Already, we distribute more than six million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables every year. We are looking to double that number over the next five years.
While eating more fresh produce is the shortest path that most people can follow to better health, it can sometimes be tough to figure out what to cook. Our Recipe Rainbow database, available online and as an app for your Apple or Android device, allows users to search for recipes using whatever ingredients they want to cook. We want to make sure that everyone can find tasty recipes that are good for you.
If you want to try Recipe Rainbow, or if you want to find out where to get help feeding your family or how to help others, visit our website at www.pittsburghfoodbank.org.
