‘Shut It Down Atlanta’ Shuts Down Downtown Atlanta

Despite what the misguided media minions promulgate through their outlets, the Ferguson protests nationwide have been not been a black-against-white maelstrom, but a multicultural uprising to stand up against the dehumanization and criminalization of young black men and the subsequent frequent shooting deaths across the nation by white police officers.
The protests, marches and rallies hosted in the city of Atlanta by “Shut It Down Atlanta” and college students from Morehouse, Spelman and Clark Atlanta University took place approximately 24 hours after a St. Louis County grand jury found Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson executed the justifiable homicide of unarmed teen Michael Brown on Aug. 9.
Coupled with the shooting death of Trayvon Martin at the hands of George Zimmerman in suburban Orlando, Fla. two years ago, the chokehold killing of Eric Garner by police in New York this year, and a plethora of other unarmed black men murders by police in Los Angeles and other cities, denizens in the lower North American continent took to the streets in major metropolises to exercise their First Amendment rights that the government begrudgingly allows them to express.
Take a look at some of the photographic highlights from the Ferguson protests in Atlanta on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
