$30,000 raises approved for Pitt provost, dean

PITTSBURGH (AP) – The University of Pittsburgh’s provost and its medical school dean are getting raises worth about $30,000 each.
They’re among seven officers receiving salary hikes Wednesday from the university’s compensation committee.
The officers receiving raises:
Senior vice chancellor and provost Patricia Beeson, 7 percent to $420,000.
Senior health sciences vice chancellor and medical school dean Arthur Levine, 3.7 percent to $847,500.
Executive vice chancellor Jerome Cochran, 3.9 percent to $532,500;
Assistant chancellor B. Jean Ferketish, 4.4 percent to $235,000;
Chief investment officer Amy Marsh, 5.3 percent to $447,500;
Chief financial officer Art Ramicone, 3.9 percent to $387,000 and 3.4 percent in January to $400,000 when he takes on additional responsibilities;
General counsel Jerome Richey, 4.1 percent to $380,000.
The raises are retroactive to the July 1 start of the fiscal year.
