PITTSBURGH (AP) – Hey, that trash man looks familiar!
A disguised Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto recently joined the city’s government’s rank-and-file for an upcoming episode of CBS’s hit reality show “Undercover Boss.”
The episode airing Dec. 21 shows the 50-year-old mayor as a garbage collector, carpenter, and a forestry worker sawing down trees.
Peduto, a Democrat, donned a wig and fake beard to blend in with city workers.
He says CBS approached him in June after seeing a clip of him on YouTube. He says he beat out several other mayors being considered for the show.
Peduto says going undercover was the only chance he’ll ever have to hear what people say about him when he’s not around.
He says the show provided a great opportunity to show off the Steel City.
