For two consecutive years Ron Scott, owner of RS Supply LLC based in Homewood has donated Thanksgiving meals to patients of the Alma Illery Primary Health Center. Feeling that it is a blessing to be in operation for 10 years, Scott said, “As a business owner, I feel that it is my responsibility to give back, to be a blessing to others.”
November 21, he and his staff provided a turkey and Thanksgiving style food to 35 patients. All items he said were purchased from the East Hills Giant Eagle owned by Debbie Hickman another Black owned establishment.
“We are very appreciative of Ron’s contribution,” said Wilford Payne, executive director of the Primary Health Care Center. This is a big plus and you don’t see businesses giving back that often.” Also pleased with Scott’s generosity, George Hollis, Alma Illery’s head of maintenance services and support said, “We are happy with the service Ron has provided us throughout the years. He does a wonderful job.”
Based in Homewood at 6629 Hamilton Avenue in a 5,400 square foot warehouse that Scott owns, RS Supply offers a full range of quality janitorial products. With the mission to provide janitorial and maintenance solutions based on honesty, integrity and dedication to his clients, Scott said, “We strive to provide our clients with products from the highest quality manufacturers at competitive prices.”
