#10 – Over 300 fantastic big time City League folks filled the room. Had a blast. Ate and     drank good and put the City League on front street again. Like I said, the City League     shows up!  (Standing room only mannn!)
#9 –    40 awardees.  Ten (10) Willie Stargell MVP awardees . . . all showed up!  Ten (10)     Connie Hawkins League Hall of Famers . . . nine (9) showed up!  Twenty (20) Inaugural     City League Hall of Fame Inductees . . . nineteen (19) showed up!  NOW – THAT’S –     WHAT – I – CALL – A – PARTY!!!
#8 –    The number one male and female City League vote getters – Sam Clancy and Jennifer     Bruce, were fantastic and set the evening in motion big time.
#7 –    You could hear a pin drop in the crowded room as Eddie Jefferies, aka “The President of  the Know It All Club” was surprised and shocked at the Life Time Achievement Award     he received along with honorary City League Hall of Fame Induction for his 30 plus years of writing the City League history for the New Pittsburgh Courier
#6 –  Morrie “Skylab” Cox reminding the room . . . it’s not how high you jump when you dunk,     it’s who you dunk on that matters!
#5 –  The beauty of the female City League awardees, including the Hollywood world class     look of Cindy Dallas who flew in from L.A. for the ceremony.
#4 –   True to form, the legendary Ricky “Black Magic” Coleman delivered another pass right  on the money as he put his life, the City League and the players on the mountaintop     where they belong.
#3 –  Proud recognition of several elder statesmen.  Luther Sewell, Sala Udin, Iftikhar Malik  and Judge Dwayne Woodruff.
#2 –    The honor of having the legend’s legend’s in the room, the great Orin Richburg, out of Westinghouse High and the great Hubie Baymut out of Penn Hills High, not only two of  the best out of Western Pa., but two of the all-time best in the nation.
#1 – “Rockin Ron” Carter, Perry All-City basketball star, VMI All-American and Hall of     Famer, drafted by the L.A. Lakers and worked in the Clinton administration reminding     the sold out audience that we are the village that must use all this power and success to     continue to raise our children so that one day they can be standing here being immortalized.
SPECIAL NOTE:  The only media that showed up to cover this historic event was the New Pittsburgh Courier and WTAE-TV.   As a City Leaguer, you should be furious and call every other station and newspaper in this city and ask why they weren’t there to cover this historic event on a night when there was no emergency news to be covered.
