Atlanta Hawks franchise goes on sale next week

The Atlanta Hawks have stormed out to their best season in a quarter century, even though they remained run by a fractured and dysfunctional ownership group.
That should end soon, however. According to sources inside the organization, the ownership groups have finally agreed to relinquish 100 shares in the franchise. The agreement has already been approved by the NBA. Both the NBA commissioner and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed have indicated their desire commitment to keep the Hawks in Atlanta under new ownership.
The Atlanta Spirit ownership group had been wrought with infighting has been a dysfunctional ownership group that owned the Hawks, Phillips Arena and the NHL’s Thrashers in 2004.
The Hawks have retained the services of banking firm Goldman Sachs and Inner Circle Sports have previously been retained to handle the sale process for a franchise’s estimated worth of $600 million dollars. Garin Narain said.
