PowerBreakfast Meeting
JAN. 16—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its PowerBreakfast Meeting at 7:30 a.m. at One Oxford Centre. 301 Grant St., Downtown. The guest speaker will be Allegheny County Executive Richard Fitzgerald. He will discuss his administration’s accomplishments in Allegheny County over the past year as well as plans for this year. Small Business Basics
JAN. 17—Chatham University’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship and SCORE Pittsburgh will host its Small Business Basics Workshop from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Chatham University, Mellon Board Room, Woodland Rd., Shadyside. This workshop is for women interested in starting their own business or expanding their current one. Industry experts will be on hand to discuss business planning, financing, bookkeeping, marketing and legal issues pertaining to small businesses. This is an informal event. Registration is required.
