The best ever NFL players never to win a Super Bowl

It seems almost like a crime that these Hall of Fame-caliber players (or actual inductees) never got a chance to win a Super Bowl. Some on this list never even got to the “Big Dance,” despite being among the best players to ever play the game at their respective positions.
As we ease onto Super Bowl XLIX in suburban Phoenix to see whether the Seattle Seahawks or the New England Patriots will win multiple Lombardi Trophies, let’s keep in mind those elite athletes who never even got one.

1. Dan Marino (above), QB, Miami Dolphins

LaDamian Thomas (LT), RB, San Diego Chargers

Brian Urlacher, LB, Chicago Bears

Andrew Luck, QB, Indianapolis Colts

Dan Fouts, QB, San Diego Chargers

Champ Bailey, CB, Denver Broncos

Gayle Sayers, RB, Chicago Bears

OJ Simpson, RB, Buffalo Bills

Jason Witten, TE, Dallas Cowboys

Chris Carter, WR, Philadelphia/Minnesota

Terrell “T.O.” Owens, WR, SanFran/Philly/Dallas/Cincinnati

Kellen Winslow, TE, San Diego Chargers

John Randle, DL, Minnesota Vikings

Ozzie Newsome, TE, Cleveland Browns (Note: Newsome failed to win as a record-setting Hall of Fame tight end, but he now has two titles as the general manager of the Baltimore Ravens).
