Meet the Candidates
FEB. 17—The 12th Ward Democratic Committee will host its “Meet the Candidates Petition Party 2015” at 6:30 p.m. at the Kingsley Association, 6435 Frankstown Ave., Larimer. This party is an opportunity for voters to meet the candidates of the May 19 Primary Election, listen to their platforms, ask questions and receive important materials and petitions. Chuck Cooper Awards
FEB. 18—The Pittsburgh Penguins will host the 5th Annual Chuck Cooper Foundation Awards Luncheon at 12 p.m. at the Lexus Club of the Consol Energy, 1001 Fifth Ave., Hill District. Basketball player Swin Cash will be honored for her outstanding career and tireless work to improve others. Sally Wiggin will serve as the emcee. FEB. 19—Boy Scouts of American Laurel Highlands Council and UPMC Health Plan will host its Whitney M. Young Jr. 26th Annual Service Awards Dinner at 6 p.m. at the Westin Convention Center Hotel, 1000 Penn Ave., Downtown.
