Metro Beat 2/11…FBI seeks suspect in 2 bank heists who claimed to have bomb

PITTSBURGH (AP) – The FBI has released surveillance photos of a man they believe robbed two Pittsburgh-area banks in about an hour by claiming to have a bomb with him.
The suspect robbed the First Commonwealth Bank in the city’s Lawrenceville section just after 1 p.m. Tuesday before hitting a PNC Bank branch in neighboring Penn Hills just after 2 p.m.
The suspect is a black male which a scraggly beard, glasses, who was wearing a red knit cap with a Pittsburgh Steelers logo. The man also wore a black jacket with a red stripe on each sleeve and Air Jordan basketball shoes. Investigators believe he’s about 6-foot-2 and thin.
Investigators aren’t saying how much money the man took from each bank.
Ex-guard gets 10 years for trafficking teens with ex-inmate
PITTSBURGH (AP) – A former prison guard has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for forcing two teens into prostitution with the help of her boyfriend, whom she met when he was an inmate at the western Pennsylvania prison where she worked.
Thirty-five-year-old Poshauntamarin Walker was sentenced Wednesday by a federal judge in Pittsburgh. She and her boyfriend, 33-year-old Rasul Abernathy, pleaded guilty last month and he received the same sentence in January.
Walker acknowledged forcing a 17-year-old boy the couple met online to sell himself for sex between December 2012 and March 2013 while she and Abernathy lived in North Versailles, a Pittsburgh suburb. The couple similarly trafficked a 16-year-old runaway girl that Abernathy met.
The couple met when Abernathy was incarcerated at a state prison in Greensburg in 2007 and 2008.
Clarion University police investigating sex assault report
CLARION, Pa. (AP) – Clarion University police are investigating a reported sexual assault of a female student on campus.
Police say a female student has reported the incident happened sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Monday. She says a man asked her for directions before pushing her up against a wall and assaulting her.
Police have not charged anyone and were continuing to search for the suspect Wednesday. Spokesman David Love won’t release other details of the incident, including the exact nature of the assault.
The school 70 miles northeast of Pittsburgh is one of 14 publicly owned universities in the State System of Higher Education.
The school has an enrollment of about 6,000, and is located in town of about the same number of residents.
University officials have alerted students to the report
