MARVIN GAYE

:07—Speaking of easy… Okay, now you get it. How easy was it to listen to Marvin? You don’t need a last name, but you know it’s Marvin Gaye.  Just take a moment to flash back to his genius. “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” with Tammie Tarrell. “Let’s Get It On,” “Keep on Dancin” and the highly underrated LP ‘I Want You’ (Remember “After the Dance?”) and one of the five greatest LP’s of all time “What’s Going On.” Yeah, that’s a trip down memory lane I know you’ll enjoy…you’re welcome! (Shut up Zik. I’m getting back to sports!)
:06—Look for Pitt to drop the same bomb on the Orangemen of Syracuse as they did Notre Dame. Pitt always plays the big names big. Look for “The Cuse” to have a chip on their shoulder due to their recent self-improved penalties, but it won’t be enough to overcome “The Blackout” Pitt has in store for them.  And for those of you who want to insist that Pitt’s problem is size, just know the facts about starting rotation. Michael Young–6-9, James Artis–6-7, Cameron Wright–6-5, Ryan Luther–6-9, James Robinson–6-3, Chris Jones 6-6, Sheldon Jeter–6-8, and Josh Newkirk–6-1. Listen, that’s plenty big enough. Nobody rolls in here with a dominating 7-2 center! The only size that matters is The Size of the Heart of the Dog in the Fight!
:05—Hey everybody, let’s welcome my main man into “The Locker Room.” Brother Duane Swayzer out of Homestead, by way of Hazelwood…the home of the Hazelwood YMCA, the ultimate man’s man, Donnie Stevens, and the late great Olivia Jones and Frank Foster, the Hazelwood Heat. Brother Swayzer, take your seat!
:04—It’s time for high school basketball playoffs. Let’s go support our student athletes.  Encourage their best on and off the court in the spirit of sportsmanship and for goodness sake, will you wanna be never was parents, please sit down and shut up!
:03—Chris “The Nightmare” Stallworth is setting people’s workout core on fire up at Planet Fitness in Penn Hills.  He’s the fitness master there, but what you really need to know is he has a title fight coming up on Sunday, April 5.  Check your Pittsburgh Courier for more ongoing details and let’s wish “The Nightmare” luck in his title fight.
:02—Here’s a tip of the Champion hat to three men I forgot to mention when I was throwing shout outs for support of the great “40 year” run Champion Enterprises had. . .not to ever be forgotten *Charles “Chuck” Powell,* *Iftakhar Milic* and *Ed Gainey.* Could not have done it without you!!!
:01—Hey, lock these dates in. .do it, and do it now!  Friday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m., The Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Public Service Awards Honoring Our Local Heroes, Those Who Protect and Serve. “Heroes Make the Sun Rise in the Morning. Heroes Make the Moon Shine Bright at Night!” – – – Pittsburgh Steeler Legends Reunion II, Saturday, April 4 from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. at Rivers Casino, starring J.T. Thomas, Robin Cole, Mike Wagner, Louis Lipps, Randy Grossman and others. Call 412-628-4856 for information.
