PITTSBURGH (AP) – Country music star Garth Brooks’ 6-show stand at Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center generated more than $650,000 in taxes and fees for the city.
The Pittsburgh Penguins and SMG, the company that manages the facility for the team, say the shows from Feb. 5-8 brought in more than $300,000 in facility fees, almost as much in amusement taxes and almost $50,000 more in parking taxes.
Those amounts don’t include taxes generated by the 105,000 fans who spent money at hotels, bars and restaurants because of the shows.
