Authorities are still searching for a third suspect in connection with last week’s shooting at a Homewood bar that left one security guard dead and another injured.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Eric McGuire, 29, of Wilkinsburg, charging him with homicide as well as conspiracy and robbery in the death of Deion Nesbitt, 24. Nesbitt was fatally shot on Feb. 16 during an altercation at the Rendezvous Phase III bar in Homewood. As of this publication’s deadline, McGuire has yet to be arrested.
Harvey Scott Jr., 26, and Tiqwan Green, 29, also of Wilkinsburg, have been arrested and charged with Nesbitt’s murder as well. Scott, who was arrested Feb. 17 and charged with homicide and firearms violations, is accused of actually shooting Nesbitt while Green, who turned himself in Feb. 23 and has been charged with homicide and conspiracy as well, and McGuire are accused of joining in the altercation to assist Scott.
Scott and Green are currently in the Allegheny County Jail.
Nesbitt died on his way to the hospital. The second security guard, an unknown female, was grazed in the arm by a bullet. She is expected to recover.
This was the second shooting incident that left a fatality in less than a year. In March 2014, one person was killed and four injured when someone opened fire in the bar. The bar is now closed.
No one has been charged in last year’s shooting incident.
A funeral service for Nesbitt was held Monday, Feb. 23 at Sanctuary of Praise on Kelly Street in Homewood.
