WOC Political Luncheon
MARCH 5—New Voices Pittsburgh will host its Women of Color Political Luncheon at 12 p.m. at the Kaufmann Center, 1825 Centre Ave., Hill District. Desserts of Shadyside
MARCH 7—Shadyside Dems, the Democratic Committee for the 7th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh will host its Primary Election fundraiser, The Desserts of Shadyside at 6 p.m. at 6101 Fifth Ave., Shadyside. Tutoring Training
MARCH 10—OASIS will host its Tutoring Training Session from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Macy’s, Forbes Room, 11th floor, 400 Fifth Ave., Downtown. This training is for mature adults 50 and over who are interested in helping neighborhood children learn to read. Training is free, and all materials and supplies will be provided. MARCH 11—The Community College of Allegheny County and Black Women for Positive Change will host its “Defending Individuals, Families and Communities—Our Lives Matter” Community Forum from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the CCAC Allegheny Campus, Foerster Student Service Center, 808 Ridge Ave., North Shore. MARCH 11—Pennsylvania Women Work will host Free Career Development and Computer Classes at the Homewood YWCA, 6907 Frankstown Ave., Homewood. Homebuyer Workshop
MARCH 14—Community Empowerment Association and Neighborworks of Western Pa will host its Homebuyers Education Workshop from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at CEA, 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. The workshop is part of the Community Benefits Workshop Series. Attendees will learn everything from credit to closing a housing transaction from certified instructors. MARCH 19—NEED will host its 52nd Annual Scholarship Dinner at 6 p.m. at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Hotel, 600 Commonwealth Place, Downtown.
