The Wholehearted
The Kelly Strayhorn Theater presents Stein | Holum Projects’ “The Wholehearted” at 8 p.m. at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. This one-woman play, inspired by the lives of iconic women in sports and boxing history, tells the story of Dee Crosby, a fictitious world champion boxer determined to get redemption after being taken down in her prime by her abusive husband. Southern Cuisine/Jazz Night
The Rivers Club presents its Southern Cuisine and Jazz Night at 6 p.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The evening will include an all-you-can-eat Southern cuisine buffet prepared by chef Jim and his team, along with live jazz music by Kenny Blake and Lyndsey Smith. Reservations are required. Dinah
Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company presents “Dinah” at 3 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre, 937 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The musical “Dinah,” written and directed by Ernest McCarty, is about 1950s African American songstress Dinah Washington and provides a powerful insight into her tragic and often controversial life.
