The Hill House Association in collaboration with Duquesne University’s McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts present The Words of Wideman to be Shared in Reading from 4-7 p.m. at the Hill House Association Kaufmann Center, 1825 Centre Ave., Hill District. Jon Faddis Orchestra
MCG Jazz presents Duke Ellington’s “Black, Brown and Beige” performed by the Jon Faddis Jazz Orchestra of New York at 8 p.m. at Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild, 1815 Metropolitan St., North Side. The Wholehearted
The Kelly Strayhorn Theater presents Stein | Holum Projects’ “The Wholehearted” at 8 p.m. at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. This one-woman play, inspired by the lives of iconic women in sports and boxing history, tells the story of Dee Crosby, a fictitious world champion boxer determined to get redemption after being taken down in her prime by her abusive husband. Blues/Jazz Fundraiser
P.R.O.M.I.S.E. presents its 7th Annual Blues, R&B and Jazz Showcase Fundraiser Event from 9 p.m.-2 a.m. at the Hard Rock Café, 230 W. Station Square Dr., Station Square. Dinah
Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company presents “Dinah” at 3 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre, 937 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The musical “Dinah,” written and directed by Ernest McCarty, is about 1950s African American songstress Dinah Washington and provides a powerful insight into her tragic and often controversial life.
