The Wholehearted
The Kelly Strayhorn Theater presents Stein | Holum Projects’ “The Wholehearted” at 8 p.m. at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. This one-woman play, inspired by the lives of iconic women in sports and boxing history, tells the story of Dee Crosby, a fictitious world champion boxer determined to get redemption after being taken down in her prime by her abusive husband. Dinah
Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company presents “Dinah” at 3 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre, 937 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The musical “Dinah,” written and directed by Ernest McCarty, is about 1950s African American songstress Dinah Washington and provides a powerful insight into her tragic and often controversial life.
