Overtime 4-1-15

:08—The elegance of “The Locker Room” is about to be elevated a few notches with the admission of the lovely Ms. Hill, she is of the legal shield persuasion. A long time reader with a flair for success…
welcome to The Locker Room Ms. Hill.  Now, cover your eyes!

:07—A shout out to my No.1 cousin Denny Briggs, a standout Mr. Everything football and track man at Shadyside Academy. “Denny” is headed into his second year of spring ball at the University of Pittsburgh and it looks like cornerback is going to be the position.  “Hail to Pitt.”

:06—Duke beats a very good and game Gonzaga team with a more talented and deeper team. Now they go to the Final Four to face Michigan State. “Coach K” and Coach Izzo” it just doesn’t get any better than that. Then you’ve got Kentucky and Wisconsin doing battle. The Final Four will be fantastic!!!

:05—Since she’s coming to town, let’s put state Rep. Ed Gainey’s question to the test.  The Queen of Soul is queen for a reason.  If Aretha, Anita Baker, Gladys Knight, and Patti LaBelle are playing Downtown on the same night at the same time, who you going to pay money to see? Ed Gainey says Anita Baker wins hands down…what say you?  Call 412-628-4856 and give me your vote. Game ends Friday, April 3 at 12 noon. P.S. if you don’t say Aretha, you’re as crazy as Gainey…I’m just sayin!!!

:04—Now off the ground and running Achieving Greatness Inc. is into its third quarter of     operation with the Pittsburgh City League Hall of Fame Inductions and the Pittsburgh/Allegheny County Public Service Awards completed with great success. We’re still looking for hard working, big thinking, aggressive minded executive types who want to join our exclusive team. Call me if you want to achieve greatness!!! 412-628-4856.

:03—Mike Love was “The Man” in Minnesota. Now he’s the highly paid third option in Cleveland. Hey, it’s “King James” way or the highway. If LeBron says you sit in the 4th quarter, then you sit in the 4th quarter.

:02—Oh yeah, a few other footnotes. The movie is called “Glory Road” and it tells the historical UTEP story. Points of interest…Pat Riley was an All-American on that Kentucky team, Coach Don Haskins, aka “The Bear,” went to the NCAAs 14 times, 719 wins, NCAA Hall of Fame in 1997. Other UTEP alumni’s are Tim Hardaway, Nate Archibald and Antonio Davis.

:01—If you’re standing up at the Blue Line Grille on Saturday, April 18 at the Pittsburgh Steelers Legends Reunion II, it’s your own fault. Tickets are going fast.  5 p.m. VIP Reception $50, 6 p.m. General admission $25, 9 p.m.-12 midnight After Party with the oldies master Sly Jock $15 at the door, starting at 9 p.m.  Mel Blount, J.T. Thomas, Louis Lipps, Andy Russell, Craig Bingham, Robin Cole, Dwayne Woodruff and Randy Grossman. Special Guests B.B. Flenory, Myron Brown, Rick Coleman and Leroy Freeman.
