(Toronto, Canada)—Canadian based luxury hat and accessories company Canada-Bliss (www.canada-bliss.com) announced its partnership with actress Tamala Jones to develop the signature line Tamala By Canada-Bliss with proceeds to benefit Brain Aneurysm awareness, and plans to secure U.S. distribution.

Jones, who stars on the hit drama “Castle“ on ABC, first met Canada-Bliss Owner and Chief Designer Karen Viloria-Miguel at a Golden Globes gifting suite.  Immediately the two bonded over—oddly enough—brain illness.

“Initially, I shared with Karen my desire to team up on a Brain Aneurysm Awareness campaign because, no pun intended, the hats are a perfect fit,” says Jones. “I wear hats and beanies; and the product is ideal for my aneurysm outreach initiative because it literally covers the brain.”

A survivor and spokesperson for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation, Jones selected designs created by Viloria-Miguel for her signature collection Tamala By Canada-Bliss. Proceeds from that line benefit The Brain Aneurysm Foundation, a decision Viloria-Miguel not only supported but applauded. Just last year, her husband, Micheal, underwent treatment for a brain tumor and is still in recovery. Crocheting hats became therapeutic for Viloria-Miguel and got the designer through some tough times. Naturally, she and Tamala became fast friends and then business partners.

“We hit it off from the start,” says Viloria-Miguel.  “I love her energy and passion.  She really knows how to rock my hats and once I learned about her incredible experiences, immediately I knew we are meant to do some amazing things together.”

Also as a part of her agreement with Canada-Bliss, Jones will promote the line, appear in advertisements and assist with gaining access to the United States and other global retail markets—with one caveat.

“It is important to me that we remain Canada based and continue the focus of Canada-Bliss’ premium handmade quality that celebrates chic style, beauty and diversity,” said Viloria-Miguel.  “Tamala fully supports my decision and is a wonderful partner who exudes Canada-Bliss’ core values.  I am truly excited about our potential.”
