Win a t.v. from Georgia Natural Gas® and community partners for recycling on Earth Day

Earth_DayGeorgia Natural Gas, in partnership with Midtown Alliance, EWaste/EPlanet and Novare Group, will hold its third annual “Unplug” electronics recycling event for Earth Day.  Residents and area businesses are being asked to celebrate this day of environmental consciousness by bringing old electronics to the courtyard of the Biltmore located at 817 W. Peachtree St. in Atlanta on Wednesday, April 22, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Earth Day is about environmental stewardship, and bringing awareness to the small things we can do to make a big difference,” said Maurice Baker, manager of community relations, Georgia Natural Gas.  “This is our third year hosting this event, and each time it gets bigger and better than the year before. The success we have achieved would not be possible without our community partners or residential support.”

The public is invited to bring old electronic equipment, which includes computers, printers, fax machines, TVs, toasters, radios, microwaves and cell phones to be recycled. For a full list of items that are accepted, please click here. Participants also will be eligible to win prizes during the event, including a grand prize 40-inch flat screen television.

“This is a great time of year to do some spring cleaning and get rid of those items that cannot be thrown in the garbage or placed on the street,” said Gerry Banuelos, managing partner, eWaste/ ePlanet.  “We have collected more than three tons since our first event, and we expect this year’s event to be even bigger.”

Earth Day is an environmental movement that was born in 1970 and is commemorated each year on April 22 to demonstrate support for a greener way of life. This is the second consecutive electronics recycling event for Georgia Natural Gas and participating community partners Midtown Alliance, EWaste/EPlanet and Novare Group. All residents are encouraged to show their support for Earth Day 2015 by unplugging and recycling their old electronics.
