HOUSTON, Pa. (AP) _ The Meadows Racetrack & Casino near Pittsburgh plans to add 250-300 jobs, including roughly 100 full-time positions, as it continues to draw more customers with banquets, conferences, concerts and other special events.
The jobs being added are on the casino side of the business some 15 miles south of Pittsburgh. About a third will be food-and-beverage workers, and about a third of the overall employees to be hired will work more than 30 hours a week, which is what the casino considers full-time.
About a quarter of the new hires will be part-timers working 20 to 30 hours, with the rest being “on-call” meaning they’ll be brought on to staff summer concerts, boxing and mixed martial arts shows.
The racetrack and casino already has about 1,400 employees.
