Fences
The Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company presents August Wilson’s “Fences” at 3 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre, 937 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. The Pulitzer-Prize winning play, directed by Mark Clayton Southers, is set in the 1950s and recounts the early rumblings of the Civil Rights Movement. The play follows character Troy Maxson, a middle-aged Hill District resident, and his struggle to accept the generational changes that have allowed his son to succeed in ways that he never could.
