CINCINNATI (AP) — Terrelle Pryor is trying to extend his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals, who have a blurry situation at backup quarterback.

Pryor is attending the Bengals’ rookie minicamp this weekend on a tryout basis. Andy Dalton is the fifth-year starter, but the backup situation is unsettled. AJ McCarron missed all of his rookie season with a sore passing shoulder. The Bengals also have Josh Johnson.
Pryor has a connection with Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, who was the Raiders’ head coach in 2011 when they took him in the supplemental draft. Pryor played three years in Oakland and started 16 games. He says he’s comfortable with Jackson’s system in Cincinnati and he’s hoping for a chance to show he can fit.
