Homeless Moms receive brunch at Salvation Army on Mother’s Day

Local homeless mothers and their children will receive a free brunch on Mother’s Day hosted by The Georgia Mothers of American Mothers Association.
Since 1998, The Georgia Mothers of the American Mothers Association,  has been hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch for homeless women and children across Atlanta at The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Services Shelter located at 400 Luckie Street Atlanta, GA. Brunch is provided to mothers currently living at the Red Shield Shelter and other local shelters.
Ruth Manning, President of the Georgia Mothers Association and one of the founding members said “I have a special place in my heart for these women and each year we shower them with love.”
Zest Atlanta will cater the event with a Southern style breakfast of egg soufflé, large ham biscuits, and much more. The Georgia Mothers of the American Mothers Association is devoted to strengthening homes and families in Georgia and recognizes the important role of motherhood through educational programs and community outreach.
Janeane Schmidt, Executive Director of The Salvation Army Red Shield Services says, “This Sunday we are expecting to give hope to many homeless women and children in Atlanta. We will pour out lots of love and blessings.”
The program will include singing, prayer, devotions and giving each mother an opportunity to share their testimony.
The program begins Sunday, May 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the The Salvation Red Shield Services Shelter, located at 400 Luckie Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30313.
