PITTSBURGH (AP) _ A western Pennsylvania man got married about an hour after he was ordered to stand trial in the death of a man whose body was found in a river in another state two months ago.
Thirty-year-old Hubert Wingate of Pittsburgh is charged in Allegheny County with homicide, theft and abuse of a corpse in the disappearance and shooting death of 34-year-old Andre Gray.
Gray went missing in October. His body was found March 3 by a tugboat captain in the Ohio River near Follansbee, West Virginia.
Defense attorney Wendy Williams cited a lack of physical evidence and suggested that another man might be responsible.
Shortly after being ordered to stand trial Friday, Wingate tied the knot in a private ceremony. Williams said her client was on “an emotional roller coaster.”
