Three Rivers Arts Festival
The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents the 56th annual Dollar Bank Three Rivers Festival at Point State Park, Downtown. The theme for the annual multidisciplinary festival, which runs through June 14, is “UNSEEN/UNHEARD.” There will be art galleries, activities, installations and exhibitions to explore, and vocalize narratives that are not typically heard or are marginalized. Riverview Jazz
Citiparks presents the Riverview Jazz Series from 7-8:30 p.m. at Riverview Park, North Side. Each Saturday, guests can beat the summer heat with the cool sounds of some of Pittsburgh’s best jazz musicians. The featured musician will be Max Leake. The concerts are free. The Dance on Widow’s Row
New Horizon Theater Inc. presents “The Dance on Widow’s Row” at 3 p.m. at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh’s Homewood Branch, 7101 Hamilton Ave., Homewood. The romantic comedy written by Samm-Art Williams follows four widows who live on the same street in fictional Port Town, N.C. The ladies have buried nine husbands altogether and find dating in their town a chore due to the local men’s reluctance to get involved with these ladies. To help find a companion, widow Magnolia Ellis throws a party where three men haltingly show up, making it an evening of laughs. Pittsburgh Jazz Celebration
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra presents The Pittsburgh Jazz Celebration at 8 p.m. at Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Ave., Cultural District. As a kickoff to the Pittsburgh Jazz Live International, jazz greats Sean Jones, David Budway, Roger Humphries, and others will perform, followed by a special presentation by Ramsey Lewis, Kurt Elling and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra that will explore the music of Billy Strayhorn, George Benson and Henry Mancini. Wednesday Night Live Jazz    
The Rivers Club presents Wednesday Night Live Jazz from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. Every Wednesday night local artists, many from the Pittsburgh Jazz Society’s Hall of Fame, will perform. There will be a Jimmy G’s jazz buffet and more. This event is free and open to the public.
