PITTSBURGH (AP) _ The U.S. women’s soccer team won’t know whether it will play another Women’s World Cup game until after Friday night’s quarterfinal match against China. But the team now knows where it will play first once the World Cup ends: Pittsburgh.
The team will meet Costa Rica in a friendly match on Aug. 16 at 1:30 p.m. at Heinz Field. The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
Tickets range from $28 to $250, with “ultimate fan tickets” _ on-field seats that come with a jersey and stadium tour _ selling for $550.
The only other time the women’s team played in Pittsburgh was in 2004.
That game, in September, followed the gold-medal performance in the Athens Olympics. About 6,400 people attended the game, a 3-0 win over Iceland.
