•    So the first response you might have to what I’m about to say is . . . What does that have to do with sports?  Well here goes.  I’ve told you time and time again if you’re pulled over by the police, just do the following and don’t ask any questions:
#1 – Turn the car off.
#2 – Turn the interior lights on.
#3 – Turn the music off.
#4 – Put both hands on the wheel.
#5 – Reach for license and registration only when asked to.
#6 – Answer yes or no in a calm voice and low tone.
#7 – Do what you’re asked to do.

Now, there’s no guarantee, but if you do these things, you have a 90% chance of living so that you can go to court and state your case before the judge!  Now again you ask, what does this have to do with sports?  Well the other 10% I spoke of is the sport of White police officers killing innocent Black men . . . I’m just sayin!!!

•    When the Pirates signed Jung-ho Kang “you all” had a racist joke to tell and then you questioned what the Pirates were thinkin . . . yes you did . . . yes – you – did!  Now that Jung is basically an everyday player and a legitimate rookie of the year candidate, what say you now?  Oh, now you’re okay with him, but you’re still telling the jokes . . . yes you are!

•    Like the sun coming up in the morning, the Pittsburgh Steelers have started training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe.  “50” straight years to be exact.  I’ll bring you bits and pieces if you’re good.  Here’s your first piece.  You may have already forgotten about Martavis Bryant.  Well, remember this.  In his rookie year in 2014, he had eight touchdowns and averaged 21.1 yards per catch.  Easily tops among the 50 other yardage leaders in the AFC and NFC.  Guess what?  He’s only going to get better.

•    Tom Brady got hit with the 4 game suspension for something he says he didn’t do and to that point there’s no proof that he did it.  Hey Tom, now you know how O.J. and Bill Cosby feel . . . what???

•    A repeat performance for ya, but it does bare repeating.  The movie Souhpaw is great.  I gave it four basketballs .  Trust me when I tell ya it’s not just a boxing movie, but the real pleasant surprise is the movie debut of Pittsburgh’s own Rayco “War” Saunders.  A short but strong showing to be sure.  Way to go champ.  You scored a knockout on this one.

•    The Annual Armon Gilliam Memorial “Hard Work” work basketball camp coming to the Penn Hills YMCA Saturday and Sunday, August 15th and 16th, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., each day, for boys and girls ages 8-16 years.  Only $25 for the week-end.  Includes supervision from former college and pro players and coaches, t-shirt, lunch both days, skills & drills and plenty of games.  Parents are welcome to stay and watch.  Special guests include Myron Brown Minnesota Timberwolves, Gerald “Scoot” Warwick the Harlem Wizards, B.B. Flenory Boston Celtics and Camp Director Warren Wilson Connie Hawkins League MVP and European League.  Call (412) 628-4856 for information right away.  Only 100 spots available.

•    Need something to get you going?  Have some fun with this one.  Here’s my top ten list . . . “The Greatest of All Time” if you will.  The top ten greatest athletes of all time.  This one’s not easy and that you can take to the bank.  (Text me yours at 412-628-4856).
#1 – Muhammad Ali (Always #1 for me.)
#2 – Wilt Chamberlain
#3 – Jim Brown
#4 – Michael Jordan / Jerry Rice
#5 – Bo Jackson
#6 – Jim Thorpe (Read about this native American if you don’t know.)
#7 – Hank Aaron
#8 – Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
#9 – Deion Sanders
#10 – “The Former” . . . Bruce Jenner! . . . what?
