FOREST PARK, Ga. — The woman who investigators believe was robbed and kidnapped at a stand-alone and isolated ATM in Clayton County, Ga. has been found safe, the media has learned.

Strangely, police found the woman was found at a motel in neighboring College Park on Wednesday afternoon, another suburb on the south side of Atlanta, but she did not contact police nor call them for help. Investigators interviewed the alleged victim for hours Wednesday afternoon, but 11Alive reported, but there were inconsistencies in her original story, the police allege.

Forest Park Major Chris Matson told the station that “she may be a victim in some sense of the word,” Matson said.

The place where she was allegedly taken against her will was at a Wells Fargo ATM at 1165 Main Street just after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Originally, it was reported that three black males had taken the driver hostage, but now police say there were six to eight masked men, all armed with handguns. They allegedly took her battered and dirty white Toyota Camry, with extensive front-end damage, with her in the car and drove off after robbing them. The women had told police they stopped at that ATM after 1 a.m. to make a deposit into her account when they were ambushed by the assailants.

Investigators have yet to recover the victim’s vehicle and would only said they have more interviews and investigating to do. The car is a 2007 white Toyota Camry damage to the driver’s side front panel that’s held together by a rope.  The Georgia license plate number is AFQ-2441.
