PA Dems 2016 delegate selection workshops available

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Democratic Party is hosting a series of Delegate Selection Workshops in order to encourage full participation by all Democrats in the delegate selection process and in all Party affairs.

A total of thirty-two events will be held across the Commonwealth. The 2 hour workshops are open to the general public and will be held in the following cities: Allentown, Beaver, Bethlehem, Butler, Bryn Mawr, Doylestown, Eagleville, Exton, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Latrobe, Lebanon, Lewisburg, New Kensington, Norristown, North East, Oakdale, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Pottsville, Reading, State College, Strafford, Stroudsburg, Sunbury, Uniontown, Wilkes-Barre, Yeadon, and York.

Pennsylvania Democrats plan on engaging in a robust outreach effort led by Outreach Director S. Prescott Harris II and Affirmative Action Chair Roger Lund to ensure that participants in the endorsement process accurately reflect registered Democrats in Pennsylvania.

Diane Bowman explained; “Next year’s presidential convention offers us a unique opportunity to attract and engage newer Democratic voters across the state. We intend to use this opportunity to not only ensure Democratic successes in next year’s elections, but to permanently strengthen and expand the active Democratic base and leadership in Pennsylvania.”

During the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee Fall Meeting scheduled for September 11th – 12th, Diane Bowman, Pennsylvania Democratic Party Executive Director and S. Prescott Harris II, Outreach Director will present Delegate Selection Process 101: An Introduction to the District-level delegate process.

The Pennsylvania State Democratic Party shall adopt and implement affirmative action programs with specific goals and timetables for African Americans, Americans with Disabilities, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Hispanic/Latino, LGBT Community, Native Americans, Seniors and Retirees, Women and Youth .
