Overtime 8-26-15…Making light of the Subway guy!

:09—If you don’t know by now our good friend and longtime Pittsburgh sports writer Jim O’Brien has two books on the market. The Jack Lambert Story and Maz and the ’60s Pirates. Two great reads. (Do me a favor and don’t tell Mr. Doss I gave Jim a free plug. You know how he feels about that stuff.)
:08—Not necessarily new to the Locker Room, but first time getting the props, former great guard from the North Side of town by way of New Hampshire University John Laymon. What we’re talking about here people is the complete point guard. Good with both hands, killer first step, could shoot the ball, but would rather run the squad and get everyone involved, and big heart! The only problem is that North Side thing. I’m just sayin. “J.L.” you’re officially in The Locker Room.
:07—Josh Harrison returned to the Pirate line-up Friday night. Harrison had surgery July 8 to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb. With Harrison, Mercer, Ramirez, Neil Walker and Jung Ho Kang all on the Pirate ship things are going to start poppin’ now.  Count on it. Everyone wants to play and the hot hand wins!
:06—Movie Review…Please! “Vacation,” “Man From Uncle” and “Train Wreck” should have     never been made. No Review For You!!!
:05—Clearly Johnny Manziel is back on track both mentally and physically and looked pretty good Thursday night against Buffalo, but Coach Mike Pettine says Josh McCown will be the starter…It’s Cleveland. Who cares?!?!
:04—I got lucky and picked up Earth, Wind and Fire Live in Concert for $5 on DVD. Yeah, I know, but that’s not the point. Ya’ll know there’s no way Maurice White the genius behind E W & F and Verdine White the bass master have the same two parents right? I’m just sayin!…I’m just saying what you people are thinking.
:03—This just in. If I was R.G. III, he’s the quarterback for Washington (I refuse to say Redskins) needs to seriously consider a new profession cause football is kicking his butt. Bad ankle, bad knee and concussion and this is only a pre-season game.
:02—The rich get richer. A jury awarded Michael Jordan an $8.9 million dollar settlement for mis-use of his name. You guessed it. Dominick’s Grocery will not be open on Monday!
:01—Tiger on the prowl. Woods needing a win or solo 2nd place in the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, N.C. is just about in as he shares the lead with rookie Tom Hoge. “Keep Hope Alive.”
:00—Lock it in. The 2nd Pittsburgh City League All-Sports Hall of Fame Inductions set for Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Wyndham Hotel in Oakland. Only 250 seats available. Don’t be on the outside looking in like last year. Call 412-628-4856 for information.
