Thousands attend annual Black Family Reunion

WE ARE FAMILY—Residents from Homewood, East Liberty, Wilkinsburg, Lincoln-Larimer and the Hill District all enjoyed a day of unity, tradition of family, food, friends, community and music at Community Empowerment Association’s annual summer Black Family Reunion event held at Schenley Park in Oakland. Hundreds of people celebrated in the sun and heat with some ole’ school grooves by the Whispers and several other artists.
