PITTSBURGH, PA – A SWAT call out ended without incident on Thursday night in Homewood.

Just after 8 p.m. Zone 5 Officers responded to the 7000 block of Mt. Vernon Street. According to the investigation, a male actor assaulted a 29 year old female victim at the residence. The victim fled the scene to seek help, and was taken to UPMC Shadyside by Paramedics where she is in stable condition.

While at the scene, Officers received information that the actor involved in the assault had gone back inside of the residence. Officers were also informed that the actor may have a weapon inside. Having no way of being certain if anyone was inside of the residence and out of concern for the safety of both the community and Officers, SWAT was called to the scene. SWAT cleared the house and did not find the actor inside of the residence.

The actor was identified as Gregory Mitchell, 32, of Homewood. He was located and arrested on September 18, and charged with aggravated assault.
