• The only name greater than Penn Hills in sports is Slippery Rock University and I hail from both and once again “The Rock” has fallen on the opposition. After a 75-0 blitz of Millersville last week, Coach George Mihalik has his boys set for another Pa. State Athletic Conference Title. You know what they say . . . Ron Hunt built the foundation at The Rock, Chuck Sanders carried The Rock like no other, Myron Brown took The Rock to unimaginable heights and The Rock wasn’t slippery until Bill Neal and Harry Baxter made it so!!!

• Pre-weekend prediction has Pitt not losing because they’re idle this week – the Pirates will take 2 out of 3 from the Cubs and the Steelers will not be bothered by St. Louis. Certainly they have a good defense, but the black and gold has too many weapons on offense.
• By the way, did you catch the latest Ali documentary on BET this week? Talk about the truth . . . none was ever better than the Greatest of All Time!
