Atlanta NAACP to hold press conference for fired Snellville’s first Black City Clerk

SNELVILLE, Ga. — The Atlanta Branch of the NAACP, representing the GA State President of the civil rights organization, will hold a press conference in support of Phyllis Moreland-Richardson, Snellville’s first African American City Clerk, whom they say was wrongly terminated.

Moreland-Richardson has filed a federal complaint accusing the Snellville City Council of violating her civil rights by stripping her of employment in January of 2014 without due process of the law.

The press conference will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015, 10:30 a.m. a the Snellville City Hall; 2342 Oak Road, SW (Highway 87); Snellville, GA 30078
