Walk into Michelangelo’s Tailoring and Tuxedo Rentals shop located in the Penn Hills Shopping Center and you are greeted by a well-dressed, small statured dark-skinned man. Most people approach and address him as they would any sales person. But in the case of Bouaze Pierre, he is more than just a salesperson, he is the owner. “I don’t mind,” he says with a charming smile. “They are my customers, but it’s all about education. Me being here just shows by example that if I can own this business that they too can do what they set their minds to do.” Pierre, a Haitian native, is 32 years old.
In operation for 23 years, but under his proprietorship for one, Pierre describes Michelangelo’s as a full service formal wear in-store and online business. As owner, he says he is excited to present customers with the finest, most diverse and largest collection of menswear fashion found anywhere. “We strive to provide you with the latest styles of tuxedos and formal wear, the highest level of customer service and keep a wide array of sizes in stock.” Along with tuxedos, shoes, hats and accessories are also available for rent or for sale.
