Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum (#68) teamed up with three East End pastors, five other Steelers and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to give back to the local community this Christmas.

Bishop Loran Mann of Pentecostal Temple COGIC, Rev. Dr. William H. Curtis of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church and Rev. Dr Darryl Canady of Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church, represented by Deaconess Renee Herring, participated in passing out turkeys with all the fixing to 300 local families.

In an interview with the local CBS station Beacham stated that these pastors are doing great work in the community and wanted to find a way to do something collaboratively, no egos involved and that’s what’s special to him during this special season.

In the same interview, Rev. Curtis stated, “It’s not about what we are getting for Christmas, but about what we are able to give back to the community and that people who have been tremendously blessed want to make sure that they are a conduit of those blessings and that those around us are blessed in like manner.”
