Chief Financial Officer
United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania
The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania is seeking a CFO as a result of the retirement of the incumbent.  Headquartered in Pittsburgh, we are a $38 million revenue human services and fundraising organization serving four counties with a history of growth, innovation and leadership and a strong and respected reputation for financial management. As a premier non-profit serving people in our region with great needs, our volunteer leadership includes senior members of the human services, government and corporate community. Our success has been recognized by Charity Navigator through receipt of its prestigious four star rating for five consecutive years and by the Post-Gazette as one of the region’s best places to work.
Trust is essential to the success of the United Way. This position requires a person of integrity that will inspire trust in the United Way among all constituencies. The CFO must have a solid record of success and achievement as a financial professional and have demonstrated ability to work successfully with senior corporate executives, board members, volunteer leaders, peers and other constituencies.  The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, hands-on and detail oriented leader, manager and team player. Prior financial leadership experience demonstrating sound fundamentals in reporting and control is essential; United Way or other non-profit experience and knowledge of Abila Fund Accounting software is a strong plus but not required.  CPA and/or MBA certifications are highly desirable.
