Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC showed its support for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their playoff games by hosting a nursery pep rally with Pittsburgh’s newest members of Steelers Nation.
Newborns were swaddled in Terrible Towels and sported hand-knitted black and gold caps made by Magee’s Volunteer Knitters of Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, located at 300 Halket St., in Oakland.
Magee hosted a baby pep rally before each of the Steelers’ playoff games. The Steelers were eliminated this past weekend by the Denver Broncos. TWO DAYS OLD—Glennice Thomas, pictured here two days after having her son, Djibril Diallo, said its really nice that the hospital does this with the babies since they all were born in Pittsburgh. She also said it doesn’t matter to her what baby Djibril does when he grows up as long as he is happy and he is good at whatever he does. Mattie Thomas, Diallo’s aunt, is a diehard devoted Steelers fan, said, Djibril made her believe even more that the Steelers were going to win. Above, new mother Glennice Thomas holds her 2-day-old Steelers supporter Djibril Diallo wrapped up in the terrible towel, rooting on the Steelers in their playoff bid for the Super Bowl, along with her sister, Mattie Thomas.
