To Tell The Truth…Others define us we must define ourselves

For much too long we have allowed others to define us, and they generally equate our origin with slavery. These persons and their descendants have often defined us as lazy, slovenly, drunkards, irresponsible, no concern for our families, drug addicts and dealers, and are consumed with a give me mentality.
The military branches were all segregated, because those in charge defined us as too cowardly. There was a period of time colleges defined us as not having the degree of intelligence to attend White colleges. Do you remember when Blacks could not play sports at the college level and definitely could not play at the professional level, because we were thought to be mentality incapable?
