Project Prom Giveaway
    MARCH 5—The Department of Human Services will host its Project Prom Giveaway from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Project Prom Shop, Century III Mall, 3075 Clairton Rd., West Mifflin. The event, which will take place March 7-11 and 15-17, allows eligible female high school students to select a beautiful gown and accessories to help male their prom night a lasting memory without the high financial burden. Financial Aid Seminar
    MARCH 5—State Sen. Jim Brewster will host a Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistant Agency (PHEAA) Financial Aid Seminar from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Penn State Greater Allegheny, Student Community Center, 4050 University Dr., McKeesport. Representatives from PHEAA will be on hand to detail the financial aid application process and what financial aid may be available. Transit Fare Proposal Hearing    
    MARCH 8—Port Authority of Allegheny County will host a Public Hearing on its Transit Fare Proposal from 3-7 p.m. at University of Pittsburgh, Pitt Alumni Hall, Connolly Ballroom, Fifth Avenue, Oakland. The board is considering a policy that would replace the current multi-zone system with a single zone that would cost all riders $2.50 with a ConnectCard, regardless of their destination; eliminate the free Downtown zone; instate a 25 cent surcharge for riders paying with cash; and more. NAACP Meeting
 MARCH 8—The NAACP Pittsburgh Branch will host its Executive and General Meetings at 7 p.m. at Freedom Unlimited, 2201 Wylie Ave., Hill District. The upcoming NAACP election will be discussed. All members are encouraged to attend this important meeting. For more information, call 412-471-1024.
Pancakes in the P.M.
