Pittsburgh welcomes the ‘Real’ Kirk Franklin ‘20 Years In One Night Tour’

When asked about the songs that speak of his personal pain, Franklin is quick to answer that “music is a healing component.  Shared pain can only heal if we reveal.”  Through his sharing, he feels deeply that “someone is going to know that it is going to be better.  My agenda is to be more like Christ.”
There is no doubt that the man with the infectious personality knows exactly who he is. He proudly states “All my music has been who I am. I am who I am because of Him.”  Because of that agenda, this prince of gospel inspires, transforms and works diligently, through his voice, to help lift the spirits of others.
Franklin admits “I am a work in progress. Music is a microphone of my journey and [the journey of] many other people.”  He encourages those who learn his story to “know who God is and be known by God.”  When asked what is in store for the future of Kirk Franklin, he softly states, “I have no idea what God has in store for me, but if He does nothing else, I am okay.”
Married to Tammy Collins Franklin for “20 incredible years,” the couple are the proud parents of four children, Kennedy, Carrington, Caziah and Kerrion.
In conjunction with Live Nation, “20 Years in One Night Tour” is presented by The Savoy Restaurant and sponsored by the Community Empowerment Association.  Tickets for the event can be purchased  at the Heinz Hall Box Office or by calling 412-392-4900.
