After an extensive search and interview period, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh announced April 5 that it has named Dr. Howard B. Slaughter Jr. as its new President and Chief Executive Officer.
He will officially take over at the end of the month when Habitat’s longtime Executive Director, Maggie Withrow, retires after 13 years of devoted service.
“The Board and I are thrilled that we were able to attract someone with Dr. Slaughter’s knowledge, reputation and experience,” said Habitat Board President Michael Rizzo.
“I’m excited to see how we can work together to execute the Habitat mission in bigger and better ways. In the brief period of time that I have known him, I am in awe of his energy, drive and passion. The future looks intriguing.”
Howard “Hoddy” Hanna, Chairman and CEO of Howard Hanna Real Estate Service, called Slaughter the “perfect fit” for Habitat.
