“I was Chairman of Dr. Slaughter’s Fannie Mae Advisory Board for seven years. He has the right attributes and is a demonstrated leader, someone I’ve known, respected and worked with over 29 years,” said Hanna. “His competence and commitment to ensuring equality, opportunity and homeownership does not elude disadvantaged and underserved communities is unparalleled and crucial for this region.”
Slaughter comes to Habitat with an extensive background in charitable community involvement, with a focus on economic development and housing initiatives. He is the president and CEO of Christian Management Enterprises LLC, a management firm specializing in strategic solutions, project management, small business and real estate development.
Slaughter has previously served as President and CEO of Landmarks Community Capital Corporation, and was also the First Regional Director of Fannie Mae’s Pittsburgh Community Business Center, where he managed a $2 billion mortgage plan and assisted twenty-four thousand individuals and families in becoming homeowners in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
He also serves on numerous boards and committees, including The Pittsburgh Foundation, the Mount Ararat Community Activity Center, and the Howard Hanna Free Care Fund Foundation.
