PUBLIC MEETING
I-579 “CAP” URBAN
CONNECTOR PROJECT
The Sports & Exhibition Authority (SEA) in cooperation with The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will hold the third of the three planned Public Meetings for the I-579 “Cap” Urban Connector Project.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the preferred layout of the park/open space that was developed based on the public input obtained at the previous two meetings and to get feedback on the plan.
The purpose of this project is to reconnect the Lower Hill District and Downtown neighborhoods of the City of Pittsburgh.  In order to achieve this, an approximately 230 foot wide structure between the Centre Avenue bridge and Bigelow Boulevard bridge will be constructed over the existing I-579 highway.  This “Cap” will create a new urban public open space (park) of approximately 3 acres with accessible pedestrian and bicycle pathways, incorporating sustainable stormwater and energy strategies, and providing for other fixed site components.
SEA staff and consultants will be available to answer questions.  Please contact Roger Eaton PE, E-mail: roger.eaton@hdrinc.com, Telephone: (412) 497-6010 for more information.
Time/Date/Location: June 27, 2016, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Presentation 6:15 PM, Jeron X. Grayson Community Center, Granville Auditorium, 1852 Enoch Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219
