Family Food Fest: Atlanta’s multicultural Father’s Day celebration at Georgia Freight Depot

The popular food-tasting event features a health pavilion, kids zone, musical performances, BBQ cook-off and a relationship panel

ATLANTA – Actress and director, Kim Fields, and her husband, actor, Christopher Morgan, will join local celebrities, politicians and a diverse representation of men and women cooks from Metro Atlanta for the second annual Family Food Fest Atlanta Multicultural Father’s Day Celebration. Co-Hosted by HGTV Host and Author Egypt Sherrod, Kiss 104.1 FM radio personality, Art Terrell and WSB TV 2 personalities, the family event will be held Sunday, June 19 at the Georgia  Freight Depot 3-6 PM.
“Family Food Fest Atlanta was created to offer an annual multicultural, family-oriented experience where local men and women can come together to show off their cooking skills, raise money for local charities, and celebrate strong fathers,” says event manager, Diane Larche´. “Our team produced a similar event for 14 years, but we are extremely excited about the way our newest venture, Family Food Fest Atlanta, allows us to expand the food-tasting experience to appeal to a wider audience. Now in our second year we’ve added a barbecue cook-off and a relationship panel hosted by Sheen Magazine.”
In addition to an opportunity to sample an assortment of dishes prepared by professional and self-proclaimed master chefs from all walks of life, the three-hour charity event will feature a health pavilion, a kids zone and live musical performances featuring various genres. There will be a silent auction and giveaways that include a stay at Breezes Resort & Spa in Nassau Bahamas, and round trip airline tickets on Delta Air Lines and Southwest Airlines.
Professional Chefs on hand to flaunt their culinary skills for the occasion include Chef Idris Muhammad, at the Commerce Club,; Chef Raul Thomas; Chef Juan Montier of Chez Montier; Chef Keith Kash, Who’s Got Soul Southern Café and Café 55 at Atlanta City Hall and Chef Elliott Farmer, Farmer’s Gourmet Catering.  Entertainment will be provided by R & B Singer Xavier Lewis.
The relationship panel will be hosted by Sheen Magazine’s Editor in Chief Sammie Haynes and Publisher Kim Chapman.  Expert panelists include Dr. Alduan Tartt, Dr. Rondrick Williamson Dr. Heavenly Kimes, C.Chandon Carter and Joi Mebane.
Congressman Congressman John Lewis, (D-GA); Rev. Antonio Grissom; Roger Bobb, Bobbcat Films; State Representative Pedro Marin; State Senator Vincent Fort; Atlanta City Councilman C.T. Martin , Fulton County Commission Chairman John Eaves and Commissioner Marvin Arrington, Fulton County Sheriff Ted Jackson, Dekalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson and Conn Jackson of Conn TV, are among the honorary chairs.
