ORACLE APPLICATION DEVELOPER
Position available at University of Pittsburgh, Dept. of Financial Information Systems in Pittsburgh, PA.  Participate in all aspects of Oracle E-Business Suite development and support including Fast Formula, Workflow, Custom Library, interfaces, reports and forms. Responsible for the following duties: Analyze end user needs and develop specifications documenting solutions to their requests; Develop logically sound programming specifications and develop the programs; Deploy and/or implement computer programs and all associated documentation to the production staff and end users; Test developed computer programs with various test data, business/technical scenarios, and test the interface/integration of those programs with other programs and software systems; Document all computer program changes, create and modify operational documentation and write program specifics; Develop and monitor project plans and take action to ensure that plan deadlines are met in a timely fashion; Other related duties as required.
Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Business or related field plus (2) years of information systems experience including one (1) year of programming experience utilizing database technology or in the alternative a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Business or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible information systems experience including three (3) years of programming experience utilizing database technology; Experience with Oracle forms and reports, SQL, PL/SQL, Java, structured programming techniques and software documentation; Experience with Oracle DBMS.

Position available at University of Pittsburgh, Dept. of Biomedical Informatics, in Pittsburgh, PA.  Responsible for analyses and interpretation of large high throughput biological datasets including but not limited to expression, mirco RNA, SNP, methylation and Next Gen sequencing technologies.  Responsible for the following duties:
•Collaborate with biomedical researchers in genomic, proteomics, imaging, bioinformatics and related disciplines and assume significant or primary responsibility for providing bioinformatics solutions and software development for publications and research proposals;
•Perform complex analysis in genomics datasets including next generation sequence data;
•Analyze whole genome, exome, CHIPseq, RNA seq data;
•Perform timely and accurate bioinformatics analysis to aid researchers in performing high-throughput data analysis;
•Work with end users and domain experts to understand software and data requirements;
•Provide informal training and consulting to end users on the functionality and use of developed applications and resolve inquiries about data integrity and consistency;
•Maintain accurate and detailed records of all research and experiments performed.
Requirements:
•Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Bioinformatics or related field;
•3 years of experience in bioinformatics software development and large data systems data mining and analysis;
•Experience working with microarrays or complex biological datasets;
•Experience with major public genomic databases;
•Experience with the following: R or MATLAB, Java, C/C++, Python, Unix Shell scripting and UNIX cluster administration;
•Knowledge and proficiency with basic statistical methods.
