United Black Book Club celebration of reading

AUTHORS—The United Black Book Clubs of Pittsburgh held its 13th Annual Celebration of Reading, 2015 -2016 Literay Healing: Kinships and Friendships. This year’s theme was Genealogy Searching Because Black Families Matter. There were different events throughout thee month to encourage reading that led toan Authors’ Brunch with Edda Fields-Black, PhD. Julian Williams, PhD. of NYU and native Pittsburgher, Piper Huguley-Higgins PhD. Spellman College, who was named one of the top 10 historical romance novelists. Local authors was also featured during the brunch.Genealogy 101; Vintage Players and writing; personal journey—researching and writing family history; abc’s of writing family history; navigating library resources; personal stories. The United Black Book Clubs of Pittsburgh held its 13th Annual Celebration of Reading, 2015 -2016 Literay Healing: Kinships and Friendships.
This year’s theme was Genealogy Searching Because Black Families Matter.
There were different events throughout the month to encourage reading that led to an Authors’ Brunch with Edda Fields-Black, PhD. Julian Williams, PhD. of NYU and native Pittsburgher, Piper Huguley-Higgins PhD. Spellman College, who was named one of the top 10 historical romance novelists.
