“The most memorable part of the night unquestionably was when Vernon was asking a young father to describe what it means to him to be a father to his two young girls, and halfway into his explanation he broke down. It was a real unscripted demonstration of love,” Coach Hank said.

“I am always looking for ways to touch men and to hopefully inspire those who are not active in their children’s lives to become an active parent in all aspects of their children’s lives also to host events and group sessions that promote positive relationships within the family structure. I felt that this event would also let young girls know what it feels like to be treated and look like a Princess.”
This was the first Ties & Tiaras Daddy Daughter Dance, however they are looking to host this event again next year. While, he is also looking into having a Mother and son event.

“We have to start exposing our children to things that promote family, fun, and rebuilding our communities. I had fathers come up to me jubilant, expressing their gratitude for me creating an event that allowed them to take their daughters out on a formal date, letting her experience that special feeling of being loved and adored. Our kids need our time more than anything,” Coach Hank said.
“I would like to thank Ms. Beverly Hickman for her inspiration to have the event, as well as her help in putting the event together. I’d like to thank Shinora Grayson-Johnson and staff at The Jeron X. Grayson Center for providing a great venue as well as assisting in the set up and clean up of the center. I’d like to thank Edward Azeem “The Best Kept Secret” and his son Terrance Edison “DJ T Mac” of the Big City DJs for providing the music. Diane Lawhorn of Dizigns Interiors for the decor of the hall, and the comedian who provided laughter. But most importantly, I would like to thank each and every dad that took the time out to bring their girls to the event. You were apart of an epic event in our community, and I sincerely hope you and your girls enjoyed yourselves and I hope to see you all next year.”
