ELEMENTARY TEACHER
Job Title: Elementary Teacher
Organization: MACS
Reports to: CEO
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
Teaches elementary school students academic, social, and motor skills at Manchester Academic Charter School (MACS) by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
1. Prepare course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines and requirements of state and school.
2. Lecture, demonstrate, and use audiovisual teaching aids to present subject matter to class.
3. Prepare, administer, correct tests, record results.
4. Assign lessons, correct papers, and hear oral presentations.
5. Teach rules of conduct.
6. Maintain order in classroom and on playground.
7. Counsel students when adjustment and academic problems arise.
8. Discuss students’ academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents.
9. Keep attendance and grade records as required by school.
10. Coordinate class field trips.

This position may supervise a Teaching Assistant (TA)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

NICU HOSPITALISTS

SPANISH TEACHER
Job Title: Spanish Teacher

SUMMARY
To provide instruction in Spanish language, pronunciation, speaking, reading, writing, listening and culture in grades K-8.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; however, other duties may be assigned.
1. Teaches knowledge and skills of the Spanish language to students in grades K-8.
2. Develops student understanding and appreciation of culture in countries where Spanish language is spoken.
3. Adapts curriculum to the needs of the students with varying intellectual abilities, and accommodates a variety of instructional activities.
4. Evaluates student’s progress in relationship to the level being taught, and prepares progress reports.
5. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior required to provide an orderly and productive environment.
6. Selects instructional materials, books, etc., and maintains inventory records.
7. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the District and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
8. Participates cooperatively with administrator to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated.
9. Communicates with parents, special education department, counselors, and principal on student progress.
10. Participates in a variety of school sponsored activities.
11. Other duties that may include but are not limited to the following:

13. Person of the Day at the SHH
14. Field trip coordinator which includes making and finalizing the plans, creating and dispersing of permission slips, organizing the buses, and communicating any necessary changes to MYDC and administration in regards to lunches.
15. Administrator and liaison between MACS and Tickets for Kids
